FAQ

  • How does health coaching work?

Health coaching begins with an initial consultation to assess your current health, lifestyle, and goals. Together, we create a customized plan with actionable steps to help you reach your objectives. Regular sessions provide ongoing support, adjustments, and accountability.

  • Who can benefit from health coaching?

Health coaching is beneficial for anyone looking to improve their overall well-being, whether it's through better nutrition, weight management, tailored exercise, or lifestyle changes. It’s particularly helpful for those who need personalized guidance and motivation/accountability to achieve their health goals.

  • How is health coaching different from seeing a doctor or dietitian?

While doctors and dietitians diagnose and treat specific medical conditions, health coaches focus on behavior change and lifestyle improvements. I work alongside medical professionals to support your overall health journey, but I do not provide medical advice or treatment.

  • What should I expect in a health coaching session?

In a health coaching session, you can expect a supportive and non-judgmental environment where we discuss your goals, progress, and any challenges you’re facing. We’ll work together to develop strategies and action steps to keep you moving forward.

  • Do you accept insurance?

I don’t accept insurance directly. However, you might want to check with your HR department or employer to see if they would consider covering coaching services as part of a health and well-being program. I frequently collaborate with individuals and groups through company-sponsored offerings, including workshops and speaking engagements.

  • Can I hire you as a coach for a short-term basis or specific goal?

Absolutely. I work with some clients on a short-term basis, whether for three months or even a single session, while others continue our collaboration for well over 12 years. The duration depends entirely on your goals. The initial session is designed to assess your situation and determine whether a short-term or long-term approach is the best fit to help you achieve your objectives.

  • Why has health coaching become so popular?

Unlike fleeting trends, health coaching has proven to be an effective strategy for guiding individuals toward greater overall well-being. By establishing a strong nutritional foundation combined with lifestyle adjustments, health coaching can significantly enhance one’s ability to lead a more active and vibrant life.

  • How long does it take to see results from health coaching?

The timeline for results varies depending on your goals and commitment. Some clients see improvements in a few days, while others may take several weeks to even months. Consistency and dedication are key to achieving long-term success

  • Can health coaching help with weight loss?

Yes, health coaching can be very effective for weight loss. I have a complete protocol that I customize for each client. Also, for clients that are interested I review the science of each component of the protocol. • Is health coaching done in person or online?

Health coaching can be done both in person and online, depending on your preference and location. Online coaching offers the flexibility to connect from anywhere, while in-person sessions may provide a more personal touch.

  • How do I choose the right health coach for me?

Choosing the right health coach involves finding someone whose approach aligns with your goals and who you feel comfortable with. It’s important to look for a coach with the right qualifications, experience, and a style that resonates with you. I offer a free initial session to see if we are a good fit. There is never any pressure. I do this work because I am good at it and I enjoy it.

  • Are you a doctor?

No, I am not a doctor. However, I frequently collaborate with doctors to support my clients in managing specific health conditions. While doctors provide medical expertise, I complement their approach by focusing on nutrition and lifestyle changes to help clients achieve their overall health goals.
